Diacetone acrylamide has two reactive groups: N-substituted amide and ketone, which is easy to copolymerize with other ethylene and monomers, thereby introducing a ketone carbonyl group into the polymer, by using the chemical nature of the ketone carbonyl group, the polymer can undergo crosslinking and branching reactions, used to prepare various adhesives thickening agent paper reinforcing agent cross linking agent, etc. It has been widely used in the fields of coatings, adhesives, daily chemicals, epoxy resin curing agents, photosensitive resin additives, textile additives, medical and health care.

Physicochemical properties

Application
DAAM is often referred to as diphenacylamine, the English name is Acrylamide, N-(1,1-dimethyl-3-oxobutyl), abbreviated as DAAM. The application of DAAM is as follows:
1. Application in hair treatment agent
The important characteristic of DAAM is that its homopolymer or copolymer is insoluble in water, but has "water respiration", the water absorption rate is 20% to 30% of its own weight, and it can release water when the ambient humidity is less than 60%. Taking advantage of this feature, DAAM is mainly used to produce the fixative agent of hairspray and photosensitive resin.
2. Application in photosensitive resin
Produced with bright, hard acid and alkali resistant solid diamine homopolymer, photosensitive resin can has fast photosensitive speed, and after exposure, the non-image part is easy to remove, so as to obtain a clear image with good strength and good solvent resistance and water resistance.
Another important use of DAAM is to partially replace gelatin. Gelatin is used in photographic emulsions and uses almost all the special properties of gelatin, so it has been difficult to find an ideal product to replace for more than 100 years. High-purity photographic gelatin will be in short supply in China for a long time. It is expected that domestic photosensitive materials will require 2500 tons of gelatin every year, but the current domestic photographic gelatin production is only hundreds of tons.

4. Application in adhesive
It can be used as an adhesion promoter and modifier for fibrous compounds, cement, glass, aluminum and polyvinyl chloride. It can also be made into pressure-sensitive adhesive. In addition, it can be used as thermal adhesive for paper, textiles and propylene-based polymer plastics.
5. Application in other aspects:
1) Can be used as curing agent for epoxy resin, anti-rust paint on ship bottom, underwater coating on ship bottom, acrylic resin coating, unsaturated polyester and other coatings;
2) The water-soluble copolymer monomer of diacetone acrylamide is effectively used for clarification with suspended solids;
3) Can be used as a laser recording material for thermal production;
4) Used as anti-blurring agent for glass;
5) Apply to azo copy materials;
6) Used as a water-soluble photosensitive resin component.
